The Spirit of Africa Trophy. It’s man. It’s wilderness. It’s machine. All pitted against each other in a gruelling test of engineering, endurance and sheer courage – hosted by none other than the legendary Sarel van de Merwe.

The elimination rounds will start on May 3 and end on July 2 2012. Entries are limited to 500 teams of two persons each. These will be split up into 25 groups of 20 teams for the elimination rounds before being reduced to 20 teams for the finals.

Once again the official vehicle will be the Volkswagen Amarok 2.0 TDI double cab.
